My heart beats heavy
I'm in a bind
This real world reality
I'm falling far behind
My mood is swinging side from side
I turn my face and try to hide
But awful thoughts tug at my side
As sharp as pain they attack my mind
I try to run but my step is meek
My face is bruised but I turn my cheek
I see the future looking bleak
They hold my tongue when I try to speak
No hope for now
It's gone today
I have to run
Nowhere to stay
The fear is coming
I cannot escape
I am a hostage
Of choices I did not make
So here I sit, so still to ponder
To stand solid or forever wander
A flash of light from over yonder
I'll stay today and be gone tomorrow
