The 2010 season should be the best ever! A whole lot of questions will be answered this upcoming season. Can Alabama repeat as SEC and National Champions? Will Terrelle Pryor take the Buckeyes to the promised land and claim the Heisman as the best player in the land? Will Boise State slide into the National Championship Game in Glendale with another undefeated season? If they go undefeated again someone has to pay them the attention and respect they feel they deserve. Robert Griffin, at Baylor is back and he might just be the most exciting player in all of college football. The eyes of Texas and the nation are upon him. John Clay at Wisconsin may be the best back you never heard of. I look for big things from that young man this season. Mr. Ingram at Alabama should have another Heisman type season. Can he be the second coming of Archie (Griffin that is)? Probably not but he'll have a banner season none the less.
College football is the greatest spectacle in sports. The sheer tradition and pageantry make it the hottest ticket in American sport. It has to be the new American pasttime. Don't even think about comparing baseball to College football. Don't try comparing NFL, NBA, NCAA basketball, or NOTHIN' with college football. Nothing comes close and I love it. Everybody has an opinion about their team and their rivalries. You cannot wait to be around the water cooler after your team "beats the brakes" off of WHOEVER. College Game Day on ESPN is expanded and that's still not long enough. We can't get enough of it. "Our conference is the best!" "Your team sucks!" "That boy shouldn't be starting!" "Kill the Coach!" "I hate that stupid mascot!" We'll hear it all and it begins tonight. I cannot wait?
As fans and enthusiasts of the greatest game in American sport let us show proper respect and dignity for our opponents. Now is the time for some real sports etiquette. There is no need to call people out of their names and talk about their mommas. That's not nice. Try.........I mean try to save that for your rivalry game (if you must). I know it's a hard thing to do but try not to bring reproach and dishonor to yourself and your chosen team. Let's show some class this year. Should we do that this should prove to be an awesome college football season. I wish all college fans and their teams the best. Stay true to the game and may our players remain healthy and strong. Now I'll conclude by saying this: GO BUCKS!!!!!!
