I Caught a Glimpse of Heaven Today

A Glimpse of Heaven

M.S.Medina
My hands were clenched nails digging into skin
My mind over- full, thoughts swirling.
When did life get so hard, could I bear more hurt again?
Then heaven showed a bit of it's self and
a beautiful picture began unfurling.

Many times we question our faith.
Why are we really here and why?
Is there any sense to life
When all so many do is cry?

The thoughts ran around and through my brain,
when would the answers began to come?
I thought I would begin to go insane
Then heaven revealed it's self to me.

The glorious scene took my breath away
Golden streams gilded with gold, calmed my tattered heart
Uncaring life did not create the scene
that I beheld that day, that made it stand apart,
from all the other random days, when my faith in God
and purpose starts to waiver. The Creator sent this scene to me
it's beauty to show me God's favor.

You see our faith is not the purpose
or our inability to understand
why life holds so much pain
and strife is our command. As we struggle to understand
all the whys and whats and ifs, God makes on us no demands.
It's not about our faith in Him that we need to see
It's just to know He believes in us and that's all there needs to be.

I was blessed with a glimpse of heaven that day
to help to make me understand
that life it's purpose we just can't see
Our purpose is just to accept life's gift
to love and to give, then let it be.

There are reasons, that only God knows, we do not understand
Until that day when we stand with Him
and then He takes our hand.
The tears will dry, our struggles will cease, no more pain will we see,
The day that a glimpse of heaven was revealed to me
filled my heart with peace and I began to see.

I know that all our suffering is for not,
indeed God has a plan, we only need to let it go
and we'll begin to understand. Hold life's small gifts close to your heart.
Appreciate every day. You just might get to see
a glimpse of where you might live someday.

What a beautiful poem! I'm also inspired by a beautiful sky. I think it is a glimpse of heaven and a little bit of perfection that was left behind. Beautiful...you are a very talented writer.
