I Covet that Badge

Poem About that Top 1,000 Badge

Kady Birdwhistle
I really want it
That yellow Top One Thousand
Badge it invades my

Mind I dreamed of it
Last night the stars manifest
Teasing me with shine

I have to say that I really really do covet those badges. Every since Kim Linton wrote about them, I've been pratically salivating over one. All I have is a pointless clout planet. I think if I were a REAL writer, I would get one of these badges. I really do covet those badges. I wonder how to get one. Should I write more articles? If that would earn me that wonderful yellow badge, I will do it!

You're well on your way. You're a very talented young lady, with lots of cool ideas!

If you're interested, I've conducted a broad survey to determine what criteria was used to select the top 1000. I've found the answer and published the results here:

Ahh, I say to hell with the badge (yet I sincerely congradulate and admire those who have earned it)! I swear it's not a "sour grapes" thing with me, Kady. I just love to create art and information, even if only two or three of ya take any interest in my stuff at all. Having tens of thousands of page views is simply a bonus for me! Just keep writing your awesome stuff, darlin, and THE BADGE WILL SOON BE YOURS!!!!!

Personally, I care more about the quality of my work, and if I reach even a few people with any of my "messages," that's my badge. If an AC badge were to come my way, however, that would be icing on the cake. It's not my goal for the badge, but I wish you the best in achieving your badge, Kady! I know you'll get one because you are determined to do so! Keep on writing, girlfriend!!! :)

I personally don't care about AC badges...as long as my poems and stories make people happy, then that is a badge enough for me.

No badge here either Kady, but it's all good. When you know that you have something to say, nothing can stop the greatness that is within you! :)

I don't know if I found my itch yet either Kady. I just know that it all comes from my heart and my life. If it turns out that I get one great, or if I make a few bucks great. Otherwise, if my stories can help someone, anyone, that is the greatest badge I can ever imagine getting. One thing is for sure, when you come on here rest assure you will find someone that has been through something you have, or similar and can guide you some how some way to get you through your moment. That is one thing I love about this place. All the people I have come in contact with are amazing people and I am so glad I have found them all. Most of us may be out of reach physically, but mentally and with our content we can all be together and help one another. I hope this helps, keep your head up girly, your doing great.

    Karen (Wise Lady)
