I Don't Know How to Love You

Lisa R. Strong
I don't know how to love you;
I wouldn't know where to begin;
You could knock forever;
But I won't let you in;
I am not worth the trouble;
I would only make you cry;
So please don't stop to notice;
Just keep on walking by;
Love is for all the others;
It was never meant for me;
Search for greener pastures;
But don't come home to me;
Try not to worry about me;
You know I'll be alright;
I sleep on cold, gray mornings;
And thrive on sleepless nights;
With my pencil and paper;
I purge out all of my pain;
My anger, doubts and fear;
Pouring out of me like rain;
No, I don't know how to love you;
And I am just trying to make you see;
That I have nothing left to offer you;
And my heart belongs to me
