I felt you moving today
A little kick here, a little punch there
You turned around and did a flip and I laughed
I put my hand to my belly to let you know I'm here
A little kick here, a little punch there
You turned around and did a flip and I laughed
I put my hand to my belly to let you know I'm here
But then I stopped
You're not there
I lost you, long ago
Why I've forgotten... I just don't know
They say that when someone loses an appendage
Sometimes it starts to itch or hurt
Phantom limb, it's called
"An unpleasant complication", is how it's described
But they lie
It's heartbreak to feel something growing that isn't there
To think of you and then remember that you're gone
I lost you, long ago
Why I've forgotten... I just don't know
