I have a new friend
That is miles away
Who supports me and loves me
In more than one way
By believing and caring
It makes me feel whole
The gentle spirit of kindness
Is warming my soul
Though the miles deter us
From sharing a snack
And the distance between
Is holding us back
From the hugs we deserve
And the laughter, you see
Yet the miles don't matter
Between them and me
I have a new friend
That is miles away
And I'll thank my dear maker
Till the end of my days
