I Give Thanks 2009
What I'm Thankful for in 2009
I want to thank the higher power
For giving me everything this year:
I have a great job. A small, warm home,
And a loving family here.
I know my lost father is doing okay,
Although I would love to know more.
Thanks for the friends I've met long the way
And those who are living next door.
I'm thankful, again, for the love that I have:
Three children and a kind wife.
I appreciate that we have food in our fridge
And stableness in our life.
The garden was great. Hunting's been good.
We've not had to go without.
Though sometimes we had only rice and beans,
We survivived it. There is no doubt.
My car is okay, only suffered one flat.
I must admit, I'm blessed.
Last year, I worried most of the time
About money, life, and being stressed.
I'm thankful for a good 2009
And that my family is doing okay.
This thankfulness washes through the whole year,
And isn't just for one day.
