I've encountered many complicated situations, while flying.
One year, Anchorage remodeled their airport. The redcaps sent us in the wrong direction. While I returned the car my cousin got stuck in the elevator. Afterward, we fell on top of our luggage at the foot of the stairs. The ticket agents refused to check our bags until they learned our destination. They escorted us and our bags to the gate through security. The male agent slowly took the wand over me and fondled me.
Recently, in Reagan airport our flight was canceled, the crew was missing. Hours later we left on a nonstop Fort Lauderdale flight which dropped us off in Tampa. We had sinks and toilets with no running water and heard the original passengers complain about us for two and a half hours.
But the worst trip was in 2010. On leaving Belgium, I took the airport bus. The half hour walk became one and one half hours. My big suitcase bucked, twisted, flipped and tangled with the other suitcase until its handle disconnected a quarter mile from the bus stop. I switched the suitcases and caught the bus.
I arrived in time. But Delta insisted I buy a ticket to New York replacing my flight to Atlanta. My original flight left an hour after we took off. In New York, a lady told me that she just dealt with the same airline, in the same airport and for the same reason. But her husband insisted on their original flight and won. Delta treated me like a scam artist when I complained.

I planned to teach college art in studio & history. But I needed to home school our son and did short term missions instead, which benefited from my education. I write about the trips I take for our ministry. View profile
