When season 8 of American Idol first began, it was clear to me that Danny Gokey was the front runner, and would win this year's competition. I take that back. In a previous article I clearly stated: "It does not appear that any other contestant on this season of American Idol comes remotely close to the likeability and talent of Danny Gokey." Again, I take that back!
No offense to Danny, who still has an awesome voice, but there is some stiff competition between the guys remaining in the contest. Matt Giraud from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Anoop Desai from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and-my new favorite-Adam Lambert from Los Angeles, California, all have smooth vocals and increased likeability amongst the fans. Any of these guys could easily become the next American Idol.
Some weeks into the competition, when the top 13 have been reduced to the top 9, I find myself especially in awe of Adam Lambert. As a matter of fact, I continuously replay his performance of Smokey Robinson's "Tracks of My Tears" in my head-over and over again. It was simply beautiful. Yes-I definitely heart Adam Lambert.
Based on this most recent performance of Motown Week combined with Adam's wonderful rendition of Michael Jackson's "Black and White," Adam Lambert is clearly an artist who not only can sing, but can bring his own creativity to a track. This seems to be something the past few winners of American Idol have in common (think David Cooke and his rendition of Lionel Richie's "Hello" for starters).
I did recognize in the beginning of the competition Adam's unique voice and broad vocal range. However, my assessment of his talent was that he should be in a Broadway musical, not becoming a "real" pop star. Boy, do I bite my tongue on that remark. Adam Lambert could clearly make it big on the pop charts.
So who is going to win American Idol Season 8? I am torn. The guys are just too awesome, but I am definitely pulling for Adam Lambert.

I watch AI for only reason - ADAM! I absolutely lover his performances. I think he is so much different and better than others. His vocals our eof this world!!!
I cannot agree more. Adam is so different and I only watch AI because of him. I certainly hope that he is being noticed by music industry because this guy has all qualities of becoming really big. I keep watching his performances on You Tube over and over. There is something very special about him. I love Adam!
Adam is the only one with a consequentially refreshing, original, and adventurous voice and mind. He sets completely himself apart from rest. They may be good singers, but none of other contestants comes even closer to him. He is just incredibly talented and unique. Adam is BRILLIANT!!! The best contestant in the history of American Idol! I honestly believe that Adam will become NEXT MUSIC ICON!
:>
After I first saw Adam at his AI audition, I watched all of his vids on YouTube (before AI). I was sold! I told everyone I know (that watches AI)that this guy possesses the kind of sheer talent that AI has never seen before.
