I Have the Lock and Key

I have grown
to appreciate
myself enough
to not allow
my body
to be used as a
carousel
where men
take a ride
and go
around and around
and then they step off
and move to the
next woman
and use also as a
merry-go-round
I have evolved
into a beautiful building
the locks to my door
have been changed
I will not give my key
to just anyone
I will not allow
just anyone on the
property
my building has
laws and regulations
that must be kept
before entering
standards must be held
by the one
who holds the
key
before attaining the
key
he must pledge to
keep it forever
with a binding
contract
his key
held
close to his
heart
if he does not
stand by the contract
my locks
will be changed
and the sign
'NO TRESPASSING PRIVATE PROPERTY"
will be
hung.
