I Love My Amor (poem)

Martin Kloess
Amor my wife I love you very much
Befitting fortune that you're named Amor
The richness of Amor's life smoothing touch
Amor hope's blessing always can restore

My love perhaps last flower of our spring
Such memories to bring love's fullest bloom
We seasoned dreams of love for us to sing
Creating for our love a sweet perfume

Here did we plan too well or not enough
Will all our past now crumble in the dust
Are we to shout that life has gotten tough
The rings we share are they to turn to rust

I cast my lute beside the love we made
My love Amor please always be my shade
