Rich Munsch (Jack T. Carpenter) tells his best friend Denis Cooverman (Paul Rust) to go in front of the whole school and say how much he loves Beth Cooper (Hayden Panettiere). He does. He also says a whole lot of other things that get hate glares. He dorkedly invites Beth to a party that he knows is just him and his best friend. They arrive and soon after so does her coked up boyfriend. Then a night that would live in his history as one of the best nights he's ever lived starts. I Love You, Beth Cooper.

I have never read the book that it is adapted from. I cannot state how close or how far it is from being true. I, however, can state that I enjoyed the film. I thought it was classic high school dork loving high school hottie. It's a bit higher on the over all good factor. It doesn't suck. It has great lines, great characters, great moments and the enjoyability factor is surprisingly good.

If you liked the trailers then you will pretty much enjoy the entire film. It has more moments that are funnier than the trailer. One of my favorite moments is when Beth picks up the Suzie Q's and says yum and Denis says his mother says that. Then she replies with a more seductive yum. It just cracks me up. I want it for my voice mail; nothing like freaking out bill collectors.

There are several really wired moments with Lauren Strom who plays Treece Kilmer. She constantly has a ditzy blond look plastered to her face. When they do the slow motion walk to the party (it is shown in the trailer) her face is so priceless. Then her lines throughout the film are just weird and yet so apt for the situation. It is a great job by her and the writers.

Munsch is the ambiguously gay best friend who claims not to be but everyone is like, well it's ok if you are. He plays the part uncomfortably well. The is he or isn't he does add to the humor. Rust and Panettiere have chemistry in a way that a dork and a pretty girl can. Just like on "The Big Bang Theory". It is believable even if it is not so on paper or upon viewing them in the stills.

Beth Cooper has terrible driving skills and her inability to keep within the bounds of the lanes coincides with her lack of clear understanding where she is headed in life. It also litters the film with funny moments of her need to crash into this or speed past that or hit someone and volley them into the grass of someone's front yard.

I Love You, Beth Cooper has a great use of soundtrack (which I rarely ever comment on) and the story is lighthearted with a twist of seriousness that touches upon the shy and the sexually exploitative. It may not be as deep as Bruno with all his satirical nuances and such,(drowning in sarcasm) but it'll set off some laughs in the belly with a few memorable scenes here and there. I Love You, Beth Cooper is a just fun movie. No need to think too hard, no need to get too involved. Just sit back and enjoy the ride and all the pretty sights and sounds like Hayden's sensual yum.
