I LOVE GULLIBLE PEOPLE!

Would You Believe..........

Chris Berry
I love gullible people. Something inside me, (I don't know what it is), will just not allow me to leave them be. I know it's not right to pick on them but doggone it they're just so much fun to mess with. I don't think I'm that sadistic really. I just think that there are so many of them and they're so damn…well gullible. Let me give you a couple of examples:

The other day I was driving a Taxi when a lady got in and asked to be taken to the airport. There was a lot of noise from a nearby construction site and unfortunately she had to repeat herself a couple of times. Finally she got a little exasperated and asked in a very rude manner "You don't hear very well do you?"

I know I shouldn't have but the devil came over me right then and the next thing I know I answered back "No Ma'am I'm almost totally deaf. I'm also totally blind but it's okay because my sense of touch is highly acute and I can tell where I'm going by feeling the vibrations in the steering wheel".

She got really quiet for a moment and then I swear to god she asked in a very worried sounding voice "Should you be driving?" I almost said "Well, They haven't caught me yet", but she was already half out of the cab and I didn't have the heart to terrorize her further.

Another time I was working on an extensive plumbing project for a lady who was one of those customers all handymen dread. She was the kind that follows you from spot to spot asking millions of questions and distracting you from getting the job done. Well, needless to say I didn't get the job finished in time and had to come back the following day. When I returned I brought a helper with me. Right away she let it be known that even though we were working outside she felt very uncomfortable having another stranger working on her pipes.

You'll never guess what happened. You got it. Out popped that same little demon from before and before I could stop myself I found myself telling her: "Oh that's just Old Jim. Don't worry about him. Ever since he got out of prison he swore he'd never kill another human being". You know, I think she believed me as she went into her house and locked all the doors and windows and didn't come out till we were finished.

So here's my quandary. Am I risking eternal damnation in hell by tormenting these people or is God sending them my way just so I'll straighten them out. I don't want to do the wrong thing but darn sometimes these folks are just so irresistible. What would you do?

  • Some of the otherwise brightest people are completely gullible.
  • Many impaired people have heightened senses in other areas.
  • Did you know that if you believe any of this you might be gullible?
You can fool some of the people all of the time or all of the people some of the time but nothing beats fooling a really gullible person.

I don't find it amusing to poke fun at gullible people, it's out right mean. There must be something emotionally wrong with you that you'd get a kick out of that.

LOL. We do this to our kids all the time. They've caught on, so I think we saved them from future lapses.

I try to follow the golden rule and do onto others as they would do onto me, so if I were being rude and ugly, I'd like for someone to put me in my place. Feel free to torment the unkind - It builds character.

I knew God had a sense of humor when I looked in the mirror.

God has a sense of humor, look around...
