Sirius is similar to XM radio but each has their own unique stations. What Sirius says about themselves is "Satellite radio is more than the latest technology. It's an extraordinary new way to experience your favorite music, sports, news, talk, comedy - and it goes anywhere you go. No longer are your choices limited to where you live or travel. Satellite radio gives you the freedom to hear what you want, when you want to hear it. Imagine dozens and dozens of commercial-free music channels playing new and old favorites. Heart pounding coverage of your favorite pro and college teams. National news broadcasters you trust. Talk shows you rely on to inform and provoke. Even traffic and weather. That's satellite radio. (www.sirius.com)"
What I like is that back in the old days, if you had a favorite radio station and went on a trip, just a few miles from home could cause your station to static and you'd eventually lose it. Sure, you can pop in a CD but now you can listen to any type of music and the station remains clear and static free now matter where you travel. Another thing is that while you might want to listen to a rock station or country station, with Sirius you get all kinds of choices such as certain decades or certain types of music in that genre. For example, on the Octane channel you hear new rock with artists such as Audioslave, Linkin Park and more. On Lithium, it's the grunge and 90's rock bands such as Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. One of my wife's favorite stations is Hair Nation where we can listen to just hair metal such as Motley Crue, Poison, Bon Jovi, etc. With Sirius, the sky's the limit on what you want to hear.
Like to listen to news channels? Sirius has ABC, CNN, Fox News, E! BBC, NPR, NBC and more! Want to hear about the weather or traffic? All of the major cities are covered with Sirius radio. And if it's comedy or talk you're looking for, you can get Howard Stern and Martha Stewart.
You can get Sirius systems at most retailers and electronic stores. The cost is approximately $50 up to $150 and you do have to have a service plan, which is about $12 per month. It's well worth it though. Rumor has it that XM and Sirius are planning a merge. If so, you'll have even more choices for one low price!

Post a CommentI listen to Country Stations and notice that you play the same thing over and over so I am wondering why I am using this radio station at all. Why don't you have a greater variety of Country Music. Also, are you going to feature Holiday Music (Christmas Music)"
I love my radio now, I agree with the others that there is too much talk, and you do play one band over and over, there are days at work I think it is a Pearl Jam day, I know there are other songs by them and yet you play the same ones over and over again. I still appreciate the variety you have, thanks for the great music, I love the Coffee House channel.
xm and sirius are not formatted for my comfortable easiness towards listening to adult formats it's so commercial,so unresearched, and repeated so many times or only one singer all of the time and of all of my calls to you, you will not take any request for a channel, like getting commercial free KCEA radio, they play better stuff than you and have a whole lot of this music format than you, because of swing thing and other well named nostalgia programming-: but please give up frank sinatra,he scares me!!!
I purchased Sirius to avoid d-jockey dialogue. When Cuzin (sic) Brucie is on, there is mostly TALK, NOT music. Now that he is on my two favorite stations, I am sadly rethinking using Sirius. He may be a nice guy, but his format destroys my reason for buying Sirius. Please let me know if you plan to cut him back, increase his hours, etc., so I will no how to plan for future listening.
Many thanks.
I love my radio too!!!!
Wish I had this. You make it sound like something I'm not sure I can live without!
