I Married a Conservative

Loki Morgan
I married a conservative.
He even likes guns.
I crunch granola while hugging trees.
How does it work?
Respect and Love

I urged him to set a good example,
perform his civic duty and vote.
Honestly I thought I would get a two for one.
It didn't happen but that is okay with me.

It is more important that people make informed choices
than blindly agree with me.

We are both nature lovers.
What about the Boy Scouts?
No Atheists, No Gays == No Boy Scouts!
Childhood memories shared and I turned.
Boy Scouts it is...

Hunting with our child strikes fear in my heart.
I have only known urban gun use.
Trust and respect override my hatred
of the weapons that do kill people.
I understand the logic of sustainable harvest.
Conditions remain:
No hunting for sport, only food.
Each animal is thanked for their sacrifice.

Two people in love deserve the same rights
as everyone else.
He stays quiet.

Respect
Love
Open minds
A little sumpin' sumpin' doesn't hurt.

My son 'voted' for McCain.
I was quiet.

Healthy discussions and debates
reveal we are not so different.

I married a conservative for life.
He married his beautiful liberal.

With luck, in time, you'll see conservatives are all mostly like your hubby. Nice poem Loki...really nice.

As with you and your husband, my wife and I are different as night and day on many everyday activities. Yet the indwelling Holy Spirit centers our core values on the same God, the same core values, and the same concepts of right and wrong. A little difference in the other areas add flavor to the pot. Smiles.
