I once knew a girl
who danced in the rain
she sang and she marched
and new little pain
I once knew a woman
she held many convictions
in a world full of cynics
her idealism had no directions
This woman so carefree
full of youthful hope and desire
for a peaceful better world
wanted nothing more to transpire
A woman must change
if the world refuses to go along
to her girlish dreams
eventually she said so long
The woman who was
wild and free as could be
out-spoken and without worry
would have been me

Post a CommentThis was great and loved the last stanza, sort of feels like me.
Isn't it strange how life changes. It seems no matter how hard we try we are forced to let some parts of us die. It is actully rather sad.
I can really relate at this point in life!
AW, I bet a couple shots of tequila and a good dance track would bring that ole girl back!
Very well done!
