I Ought to Be

Jean Marie

I Ought to Be_______(fill in the blank)

Finished with school

Promoted

Making more money

Be more patieient and understanding

Have a house

Out of debt

Married

In a relationship

Stop doing too much

Stop getting degrees

Stop learning

Get in the real world

Work now travel later

Own my own business when I retire

And not now

Be more independent

Be more dependent

Not so moody

Smile more

Be happy for apparently I am not

Not speak my mind

Be so stubborn

Say no

Say yes

Be traditional

Settle

Get over it

Be everything to everyone

Travel with someone, not alone

Now take that list

Rip it up

When are you going to start living?

Is it your life or someone eles's?

Excellent poem. You captured what a lot of people possibly believe. It's refreshing to read someone elses words that see's what others do not. Great Job!
