I Refuse

Always forcing their point of few

Always needing to be right

Got to feed their egos somehow

Maybe this is why so many have a problem with me

I refuse to bow down and allow them to walk all over me

I refuse to be just another dumb girl

I refuse not to be heard

I refuse to keep my opinion to myself

I refuse to "act like a lady"

I refuse to be stepped on

Talked over and made a fool

But everyone says they never thought it'd be me

Never thought I'd be the battered woman

Said I was too strong, too stubborn

Too tough

Well tough doesn't matter when someone's got a buck fifty on you

Tough doesn't matter when someone's got a gun

With a bullet in the chamber and the safety off

Pointed at your chest
