I refuse to live in a world
where promises mean nothing
where people lie to get ahead
where "friends" blow in and out of your life like dead leaves
in a crisp October wind
where promises mean nothing
where people lie to get ahead
where "friends" blow in and out of your life like dead leaves
in a crisp October wind
I refuse to live with people
who think nothing of the feelings of others
who say one thing and do another
who abandon their friends when they need them the most
Let's leave them to drown like the rats they are
I refuse to give up
on the people I love
on the hope in my heart
on the commitments I've made
I refuse
You should too

Post a CommentWow -- great expression of real truth. Friends blowing in and out of our lives . . . tragic, by true. Well done! You have captured something that is way too prevalent in our culture.
Don't give up. As a matter of fact like you said in the poem above refuse to. Thanks for sharing.
Can't say where I know this from, but once heard that we actually have very few friends and most people have at most 5 and the majority of those have less than that, usually 1 or 2. All the others we know are very good acquaintances and nothing more than that, except maybe gossipers. Hang in there kid-o, don't let our boat sink, I don't swim very well now. Ken
