I REFUSE

Kathryn Neff Perry
My best friend, my roommate, my lover, the man I share my life with, the man who supports and encourages me, my husband. We are usually in agreement on most things. He prefers an old-fashioned Church service. He loves the traditional hymns. I, on the other hand love a contemporary service, especially with all the music and instruments. I also love the old hymns, but I wake up singing some of the new ones.
"I Refuse" By Josh Wilson, is my absolute favorite right now. I sing that from morning to night. "I refuse to let someone else, do what God has called me to do myself."
One of my girlfriends and I were able to have lunch together yesterday. She reminded me of a Bible verse she holds in her heart everyday.
Philippians 4:6,7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
I receive lots of email, or phone calls that start out like this: "I'm so worried about my job, my Mom, my daughter, the tests I'm taking tomorrow, losing my home, etc."
Every day we will be faced with trials. And it's pretty hard to sing when you are facing a mountain. You may not be going through the "fire" right now, but trust me, it's coming.
And when it does, remember also Hebrews 13:5 ....I will never leave you nor forsake you.
A hymn my husband and I both agree on is Amazing Grace.
And His Grace is Amazing.

Taylor, It's a hard lesson to learn. To count and lean on the Lord for everything.

Very inspirational! I think worry has become so ingrained in many of us that we have to retrain our minds and hearts not to worry about anything -

    Rebecca,
I've been a slow learner. It's taken me a long time to realize that "my strength comes from the Lord. He's got it all figured out already. All I have to do is grab His hand and follow Him."
    Hugs and blessings to you

Very uplifting. We do worry way too much about things we cannot do anything about, except pray!
