I Refuse My Indoor Toilet

Poem

Kady Birdwhistle
Hello my name is Midnight
I'll tell you I can be and act a fright
When I'm nervous and eight o'clock comes
I run faster than beating hippie drums
To sway and yowel beside the door
Because I hate my cat box which is indoors
I'm used to running and scamming around town
Doing everything I want and choose without a frown
Playing in God's green beautiful Earth
But my cat box fills me with awful mirth
I am very upset tonight, can you see?
Kady says I'm an housecat now, but I don't agree
Not even Bungee Mouse or Ribbon Snake
Can tempt me from my perceived outdoor fate
Kady plugs her ears and smiles
She knows I'll calm down after a while
I'm so mad at her she grabbed the camera
While my yoweling causes me to lose my stamina

Your cat reminds me of the one that used to live with me.

Midnight is adorable! Just give her some time and she'll get used to being an indoor kitty! Great job, as always. :)

You have me hooked on reading these poems of yours, these little slices of your life. I hope the cat adjusts. We had a kitten that was born from a barn cat and it never got used to being inside. It tolerated people, barely, but was happiest outside.
