I Said I'd Never Leave You

I Will Always Be with You

Kathleen Shaeffer
I walk down the hall.
Butch, our dog, know's me.
My love sit's there, staring at nothing,
God. please let her see.

Butch stands up,
wagging his tail.
I try to pet him.
but to no avail.

I look at my love,
sitting in her chair.
Oh, how I wish,
I could touch her hair.

She's sitting there. staring,
there is a tear in her eye.
I hear her whisper,
dear Godwhy?

I lean over,
to whisper in her ear,
My love I'm not far,
I will always be near.

I try to kiss her hair,
she seems to feel.
She says with a whisper,
"can this be real?"

I say,yes it is,
I wish she could hear.
But at least she know's,
my love, I am here. "

She turns my way.
a smile on her face.
She really know's I'm here,
this is forever my place.

She reaches for Butch,
and say's, soft and clear,
I know Butch, I know,
I know he Is here.
