Hip Hip Hooray
Last year I didn't see a one
With a yellow-jacket on
This year I saw three
Or perhaps it was the same one
I watched the news the other day
Where they went into the caves
In Connecticut
And to their dismay
Instead of finding 3 thousand
There were less than two dozen bats
Their noses covered with fungus
Is there a fungus amongst us
Something that we can't see
Killing the bats and killing the bees?
Is it not a gamma ray, but some other chi
An energy wave
Of a certain frequency
That will be yielding our final destiny?
The planet is heating up
The weather winds are changing
The ice caps are melting
When the water runs dry in Beijing
Who will come a-calling?
Not the polar bears or the Seals,
They will be extinct as well you see
When it is just you and me
How fit will the world truly be
Have we missed the hearing?

Great poetry here.
Very informative, Kay!
Great poem
The bees are all at my house. We have plenty to share (and wasps too). Good poem!
Nicely done.
Nicely done, Kay. cheers ;)
Very well written. It's time to take care of our planet and our wildlife. We have a lot of bees around right now, including brick bees that are trying to nest in the holes in the bricks outside the kitchen. Have seen a few large bumble bees in the last week too.
I am glad you let it 'be.' :-)
