Even grief must come to an end
For today has been very pleasant
With my brother and a friend
Not once did I find myself longing
And hoping for one glimpse of you
Instead I found myself planning
On making new dreams come true
I'm tired of living with sorrow
I'm tired of living in pain
So now I shall plan for tomorrow
And start enjoying life once again
I know I shall never forget you
And feel sad that we had to part
But now I shall only have friends
Not a love to again break my heart
(In memory of Grandma Chilcoat)
