I Skip Naked Under a Grove of Trees

Embracing the Child Within

AD
I skip naked under a grove of trees.
The moist night air mistaking my skin for grass,
Leaves dew drops.
The moon mistaking my beasts for hills
Bounces off its light.
I am not the victim of a college dare.
Not a victim at all.
But the proud owner of a childlike spirit;
Impulsive, and daring.

My not so luck y friends
Watch on egging me to continue.
Wishing they too posses whatever it is I have;
Posses the courage to run naked under a grove of trees.
But fear of reprimand holds them back.
They watch as I frolic and play for all of us.
For I have no fear of dorm mothers.
Of breaking rules of etiquette,
Shoulds and should nots;
Dos and don'ts.
For to me there is no such word as should or could.
Only do and try.
So I do and I try.
And I live a thousand lives in a moment,
While others live a moment in a thousand lives.
