I Need Someone to Talk To

I need someone to talk to,
through those lonely hours.
Those times when pain and heartache
seem to have more power.
Someone who will listen
to all I have to say,
Who never will pass judgement,
nor send me on my way.

I need someone to talk to,
when my days all seem too long;
Those times when I feel empty;
so lonely and alone.
Someone who will sit with me --
even through the silent pause,
Who'll hear the things I have to say;
and not think I am odd.

People come to me a lot,
when they need an ear.
But where are they, when I'm blue?
they surely are not here!
I need to trust in someone,
I know I ought to.
But now I'm lonely and so sad --
I need someone to talk to.
