I Can Tell You that I Love You

David B. Young
I find it hard to write a poem,

And I could never write a song.

But I can say, "I love you."

And my heart will sing along.

I'll tell you once for every sunset

And every star up in the sky.

I'll say it twiice for every rainbow

And every twinkle in your eye.

I love to hear your laughter.

I love to see you smile.

I love to sit and talk with you

Just to be with you a while.

I love to be alone with you,

To take a walk and hold your hand.

Then I can say, "I love you,"

And I know you'll understand.
