I Can Make You Thin Book Review:
What Paul McKenna's book I Can Make You Thin really boils down to is a set of four seemingly simple weight loss rules that the thin naturally follow.
4 Weight Loss Rules:
1. When You Are Hungry Eat
2. Eat What You Want
3. Eat Consciously - Enjoying Each Bite
4. Stop Eating When You Are Full
How many diets have you been on that have told you to eat anything you want, whatever you want? I doubt that most of you can name even just one diet that allowed you to eat the foods you love. You must remember that you cannot eat as much as you want though. He also says in the book that you should only eat when you are truly hungry, not confusing that with emotional hunger.
In the book I Can Make You Thin the author gives you several coping mechanisms to retrain your brain. You will learn that you need to eat much slower and chew your food many times like you are a food gourmet. Americans in general eat much faster and on the run, food must be savored and enjoyed. When you run through a fast food joint like McDonald's and eat the food in the car, you are most definitely not enjoying your food.
Overall, I enjoyed the book, I Can Make You Thin. I thought the CD was weird at first but it ended up being very relaxing. Can Paul McKenna really make you thin? I believe that if you follow the rules and eat like he tells you to that you will lose weight. If you stop following the rules you will begin to gain weight back. Learning to listen to your bodies' natural cues of hunger and fullness will take some adjustments but those are no more difficult than most other dieting rules.
