I Thought We Were Free

x
Many arrests are made every day
For petty "crimes" we have to pay

"Pot is deadly" they want you to believe
It's only a lie meant to deceive

Who exactly leads this war on drugs?
Only self-righteous idiots and thugs

RepubliCrats play such a dangerous game
A war on People, and they're to blame

This world would be a much better place
If they'd leave us alone, give us our space

Some actually think they're winning the "battle"
Because they treat us like a herd of cattle

Whatever happens to the weed that they take?
It's back on the streets, there's MONEY to make

Why got to jail for the seeds that you've sown?
It's not the plants; THEY WANT WHAT YOU OWN!

They'll take all that you have to your name
All of the profits finance their sick game

The Ruling Class is no better than us
but Their kids slither free when they're in a bust

Things need to change, I think you'll agree
What's going on? I THOUGHT WE WERE FREE!

Thought provoking! The drug wars are not on the streets, there in the doctor's office. Doctors are most definitely compulsive prescription writers!
