I Went on a Journey

To See What I Could Find..

Janet Hunt
I Went on a Journey

To see what I could find

The home I had come to know

Seemed a simpleton's waste of time

New and more exciting treasures

Awaited at journey's end

I traveled long and I traveled far

Said farewell to a few old friends

The road beneath my feet

Seemed to mock at me and say

"What is it that you hope to find

Traveling along this way?

Do you believe the grass

Somehow greener it will be

The farther you go away?

Does not the sun shine its warmth

From sea to shining sea

And life my friend

Is still just life...

No matter where it is you may be!"
