I Wish and I Pray
Late in the night I stare at the sky
Wish on the stars as they float on by
Over and over, one by one
I wish until my wishing's done
I wish for you, I wish for me
I wish for love eternally
I wish for the past and I wish for tomorrow
I wish away all of my sorrow
Late in the night I lie alone
Praying for strength to be on my own
Thanking the Lord for the time that we've had
Praying to heal and not feel so sad
I pray for you, I pray for me
I pray for love eternally
I pray for the past and I pray for tomorrow
I pray away all of my sorrow
Late every night, these tears just fall
And I know all this wishing does nothing at all
Yet I still stand outside with wishes and prayers...
Hoping not everything falls on deafened ears
