I Wish That My Trees Had Vagabond Leaves!

Why Don't They Just Go?

Mike Oberg
I wish that my trees
Had vagabond leaves
That want to be gone
To other guys' lawns.

When the wind would blow
They'd jump off and go,
Gypsies in the breeze,
Leaving me with ease!

I could sit inside,
Watching rakes outside
My neighbors employ
While I could enjoy...

Hot apple cider.

Very cute. Nice slant rhyme in the first quatrain.

I'll take your leaves, and spread them with ease, as free mulch in my garden. Can I have them please? :)

...but if your neighbors get the leaves from your trees, will they also get your shade during the long hot summers? :)

Your neighbors probably wouldn't be very happy...but maybe that's half the fun! ;)

That's why I have my trusty leaf blower... to send those leaves packing! Excellent poem, Mike!
