I Would Be a Much Happier Me!

Deborah Coss
Music hath no charms like that of a female child!
As I crawled upon the laps of my Daddy's pals,
I asked them each and all, "Will you marries me when I grows up?"
They all agreed and I had many a beau, when I was really small.
Small physic, brilliant blue eyes, and toe-head blond hair,
Verbose and flirty, I enjoyed charming them all, in my own way.
It was practice that's for sure, the foreshadow of things to come.
But as you grow older, the game loses some of it's charm.
When it's all innocence and make believe, it's easier to love.
But it's when things finally get real, that it's gets tough.
If I could still fall in and out of love like I did
When I was a small girl of only two or three,
I would still be a much happier me!
