Hiking or mountain biking through the Jungle, river kayaking and tubing, cave expeditions, and treks through Mayan ruins. If any of these things sound intriguing, you can find them all in Belize. Ian Anderson's Caves Branch Adventure Company offers tours of all kinds to visitors of the braver variety. Cave tubing has become Belize's top attraction though, and for good reason. The cave tubing and touring adventures offered by Anderson's company take visitors through some of the most incredible parts of the ancient Mayans' world. Expeditions vary in the level of physicality, but none of them are for the weak of heart, so if you have the courage, the curiosity, and the physical prowess, check out any one of these great caving tours offered by Anderson and his team of expert wilderness explorers.

When it comes to cave tubing, the Adventure Company's "River of Caves" tour and the "River Cave Expedition" are the best treks to be found in all of Belize. The "River of Caves" tour is the first one that famed adventurer Anderson offered. It is the longest Belizean cave tubing tour around, at over seven miles of underground floating. With only an inner tube between you and whatever may be lurking in the water and only a headlamp to cut through the darkness, this tour takes you through stalagmites and stalactites, past underground waterfalls, and into the crystal cathedral. The tour is available only during the rainy season in Belize, July - January, when the water levels are at their peak, and includes some hiking and trekking between watering holes.

The River Cave Expedition is more trekking than the "River of Caves" tour. The expedition involves some cave tubing and some spelunking, and takes explorers through the ancient river cave system of the Maya, where altars, artifacts, and footprints dating back to 400 A.D. are still visible. The River Cave Expedition leads adventurers through some of the most sacred and beautiful parts of the intricate caving system the Mayans used during their reign in the Belizean rainforest.

You don't have to be willing to have your butt down in dark water to visit all of the caves of Belize. With the Waterfall Cave Expedition, explorers go by foot through the cave system to visit six amazing underground waterfalls, as well as some Mayan spiritual hubs and rooms of crystal. The expedition takes the brave and capable down hundreds of feet into the cave system and ends with a three kilometer hike through the forest. One of the most physically challenging caving tours offered, the Waterfall expedition is not for the sluggish.

For people with a passion for adventure, there is no place like Belize and no guides like Ian Anderson's team. For more information, more tour options, prices, and guidelines, check out the website: http://www.cavesbranch.com/adventures/caving.html
