The iCab 3 web browser should have at least 128MB of ram installed on a machine for it to work. If it doesn't have that amount of ram iCab 3 will run extremely slow. The browser is slow with any amount of ram, but even slower for less. The browser is slow, and it is really the only option available to OS 9 users. Mozilla WAMCOM 1.3.1 and Internet Explorer 5.17 are the next two best options and are both outdated but still pretty useful if you really dislike iCab 3.
iCab 3 is a web browser that is free or shareware. A message will pop up suggesting that you register every time you open the program. This is a little annoyance that is no big deal and there is no time limit on how long a user can use the program. The program will have this pop up message every time you open it though. iCab 3 and the iCab web browsers have been around for quite some time now, slowly gaining popularity over the years.
Did I mention this browser is slow? So slow that it crawls, I mean there has to be a better option for computers running OS 9, but there isn't and it is a shame. OS 9 may be out dated but it is still widely in use, surely a programmer other then iCab would come out with a browser, but they haven't. The browser will open most pages on the Internet and the rendering is fairly modern, which is a plus. I guess that is the most you can ask for these days with OS 9
In conclusion, iCab 3 is the only web browser still being supported for OS 9, you can download it at iCab's official website. http://www.icab.de/. There are also versions for OS X as well as the older Macintosh's. iCab 3 is very slow however, so do not expect much from it. There really are few alternatives to it, if you want to run Mac OS 9 though, so keep that in mind.
