I originally found this product at Fry's grocery store. It was on the bargain table selling for .50 cents for a 60 tablet bottle. The normal price of these vitamins is about $10 to $12 for a 60 tablet bottle. I think they didn't sell that fast because many people have never even heard about eye vitamins. For that price I purchased all that they had. Icaps come in an attractive yellow, blue and red package. Inside the package is a securely sealed bottle of tablets.
I have just turned 40 and my eyes are much different than they use to be. I have a hard time reading small labels and it seems to be getting worse as I get older. It is remarkable to me that an eye vitamin may be able to halt this process.
On the side label it says, "Icaps eye vitamin and mineral supplement lutein and zeaxanthin formula is a specialized, comprehensive formula of carotenoids, antioxidants and minerals important to vision. Lutein and Zeaxanthin are natural carotenoids that have been shown through structural and clinical studies to be concentrated in the macular segment of the retina. These carotenoids are not produced by the human body, and their accumulation in the eye is dependant on dietary intake. Studies suggest a relationship between those two carotenoids and the maintenance of a normal healthy macula and clarity of the lens of the eye. Zinc is an important mineral found in high concentrations in healthy eyes. Zinc acetate has been proven to be the form of zinc with great absorption by the body."
Recommended dosage is 2 Icap tablets a day with food. In each serving you will receive:
1) 6,600 I.U. Vitamin A (beta Carotene)
2) 400 mg Vitamin C
3) 150 I.U. Vitamin E
4) 10 mg Riboflavin
5) 37 mg Calcium
6) 60 mg Zinc
7) 40 mcg Selenium
8) 4 mg Copper
9) 10 mg Manganese
10) 4 mg Lutein-Zeaxanthin
I really believe these eye vitamins can help with my vision. I believe it is a good product and would definitely recommend it!
