iCarly Themed DIY Party Invitations

Lisa Carey

Does your child want an iCarly themed birthday party? The very first thing that will get your guests attention is a very special invitation. Try these three ideas to get that iCarly party started.

iCarly Themed Video invitations

Do you have a webcam or a Flip video recorder? If so, write down the invitations details and give your child a chance to shine on their very own web cast. All you have to do is record them talking about the invitation details such as day and time and then upload to your computer. Start with an intro like on the iCarly show; "Hi I'm (insert your child's name here) and this is your invitation to the i(insert child's name here) birthday party show! Then include the details. Some software programs on your computer allow you to add details such as music, borders or other special effects to your video, depending on how "techie" you are or you can keep it short, sweet and simple just the way you recorded it.

Next, send your video recorded invitations via e-mail or share it with just those you wish to invite using the special "custom" features on Facebook. Be sure you don't mark who you want to invite, after all you wouldn't want 1500 people to show up on your door step.

iCarly Themed "Pear" Laptop Card Invitations

To create your own iCarly "Pear" Laptop Card start with the following supplies:

  • Half fold white cards (available at office supply and hobby/craft stores)
  • Purple, pink, green and yellow construction paper
  • Special "effects" like glitter, confetti or confetti shaped swirls made of foam
  • Computer, printer paper and printer

Fold card stock in half. Make sure it's in landscape position. Cut our a pear shape from the green construction paper and glue onto the center of the front of card. Shiny colored paper is hard to cut, but looks the best.

Next open card and on the top of the page create your "web page" invitation. Create a rectangular frame using one of the colors of construction paper on the top section of the card. Insert a photo of your child. State i(insert your child's name) invites you to her (insert number here) birthday party in center of top section. Print out the details of date, time and occasion and glue to the right hand top corner of the card.

On the bottom section create a blank keyboard. Then on the empty keyboard squares write out "Happy Birthday" and your child's name.

iCarly Themed "Mousepad" Invitations

The mousepad invitation is an adaptation of foam magnet fridge picture frames. My 4 year old actually came up with this idea and it worked great!

Use one solid colored 4 x 6 or 5x7 foam piece for the bottom/base of the mousepad invitation. Next use a cut out foam frame to design the outer layer of the invitation. Glue onto base leaving top unglued so that you can insert your invitation details. Next add peel and stick letters to spell out iCarly.com and decorate with a variety of fun designs from a foam peel and stick bag assortment (available at the dollar store). Print out your invitation details such as who, what, when, and where the party is as well as contact information for your RSVP. This is actually the easiest as well as least expensive invitation as all the items were purchased at the dollar store in several packs.

The best thing about each of these iCarly themed party invitation is that your child can help you create each one of them and each of them will show a your child's own personality. Now, let's get that celebrate our invitations being done with some random dancing!
