Conversely, if plain vanilla or chocolate is your favorite, this article is not for you. If Blue Bell is your favorite ice cream brand, this article may not be for you. (See the Blue Bell rebuttal) Lastly, Ice Cream Flavors Not to Miss is not about what's good for you, or the likes of we-all-know-it's-great Häagen-Dazs indulgences.
Instead, these ice cream flavors are for the average consumer looking to pick up a special ice cream flavor for casual company or to break tradition with their high-cal ritual.
Blue Bunny Premium Ice Cream Flavors
Blue Bunny outshines many competitors in some regions, yet it is not among the top three selling ice cream brands. Cream is the second ingredient, and Blue Bunny is a personal favorite.
While Peanut Butter Panic is the most favored ice cream flavor in the Blue Bunny line, one can get too much of a good thing - and peanut butter is not for everyone. Consider these less traditional Blue Bunny Premium ice cream flavors to treat your taste buds and soothe the soul.
Bordeaux Cherry Chocolate
If you like cherry chocolate chip you will lose yourself in a bowl of Bordeaux Cherry Chocolate. Luscious dark cherries amidst amaretto flavored Bordeaux cherry ice creama and partnered with dark chocolate flakes that compliment but don't compete.
Premium Pistachio Almond
Pistachio is one of the most difficult ice cream flavors to locate and Blue Bunny comes to the rescue, when it is in stock. Perhaps not deserving of the best pistachio ice cream award, it is very good and relieves many a craving for the nutty flavor.
Bunny Tracks
Bunny Tracks is not a company's coming dessert, yet it is worth mentioning for two reasons. First, many ice cream lovers are unaware of the signature Blue Bunny ice cream flavor. Secondly, it is often preferred to its Moose Tracks competition, containing chocolate-covered peanut butter bunnies, chocolate-covered peanuts and fudge ribbons. Of course, Bunny Tracks may make a fun ice cream flavor for Easter Bunny enthusiasts.
Breyer's Ice Cream Flavors
What's not to like about Breyer's ice cream since the product line has met with variable consumer demands. From Organic to Double Churn Fat Free flavors, and the most sinful, and my favorite, is the Fun and Indulgent line. Still some think Breyer's ice cream is overpriced and overstated, and it may be with some exceptions.
Breyer's Fried Ice Cream
Mere notice of fried ice cream, resting inconspicuously on a store freezer shelf, instantly raised my endorphin levels. A favored dessert in Mexican restaurants, few attempt the homemade route. Breyer's Fried Ice Cream is a most pleasing alternative found in a carton. With cinnamon baked fried tortilla bits and decidedly honey flavored caramel, Breyer's Fried Ice Cream is an ice cream flavor to try at least once.
Favored Ingredients, Popular Brands
From Sara Lee Cheese Cake to Goya Dulce De Leche, if you haven't tried Breyer's since their basic fare, (which some prefer), these ice cream flavors may win you over.
Breyer's Ice Cream Flavors for Kids
Good luck choosing between Dora The Explorer ice cream and Bubble Yum Original with a kid in tow.
Edy's Ice Cream Flavors
First, the company's greatest sin is offering special edition ice cream flavors, and once they disappear little else can satisfy your cravings. Second, Edy's selection is formidable, so there is something for everyone.
Typically, I opt for the Spumoni, and more traditional ice cream flavors such as Cherry Chocolate Chip, Cookie Dough or Butter Pecan, the latter made primarily with cream. This unless a special edition ice cream flavor, like Apple Pie, is available.
Slow Churned offers less calories and additional ice cream flavors, but diet and ice cream doesn't go together in my vocabulary.
Edy's Ice Cream Flavors to Pass?
One Edy's line I'm not fond of is the Loaded line of ice cream flavors. The chocolate chip cookie dough reminds me of pouring chocolate chips straight out of the bag onto a bowel of vanilla ice cream. Edy's Loaded looks similar to a Sonic Blizzard, which I enjoy, but this is far sweeter and waxier.
Blue Bell Rebuttal
Yes they serve Blue Bunny at Camp David and Cape Canaveral but the government also pays $250 for a hammer. It is not that Blue Bell is bad, and maybe it's better for you and less processed, but Blue Bell lacks flavor and bits of goo and crunch. Then again, the company stocks a limited number of ice cream flavors in local stores, so I begrudge them for that. For the price though, I find it doesn't live up to the hype. Though some ice cream connoisseurs will surely disagree.

Post a CommentNot sure how I came across this, but for some reason I am now really in the mood for ice cream : )
Ah, ice-cream! Can't wait for warmer weather to set in... :)
I'm such a sucker for ice cream, thanks for the suggestions!
I like Blue Bunny, Donna, especially the Bordeaux Cherry Chocolate and Bunny Tracks. Blue Bunny has sherbet and yogurt, too. And its Bomb Pops are, well, 'the bomb.' (smile)... Michael
