Edge of the Earth: The drivers meet in Inuvik for the start of the season, and will be traveling to Tuktoyaktuk. The new road is difficult to travel due to local traffic. The road travels over the Mackenzie River, and part of it is over the Arctic Ocean. Rick gets in an accident, and is late in meeting Alex. The new road has a higher speed limit, and they both get under way.
Mechanical Mayhem: It is revealed that Drew did not return home after he quit in the previous season, but that he is working locally. Drew and Rick both fall ill. Six-year veteran Bear Swensen is introduced. Rick continues working, but has problems when his truck stops in the middle of the road. It turns out to be due to an engine oil leak. Rick will have to wait for a new oil pan to be flown in before returning to the road.
The Big Blizzard: The first major blizzard of the season strikes. Drivers rush to deliver their loads before the roads close. Hugh hauls a vacuum tanker. Drew makes an ice run, but falls ill again. Bear makes a haul, and Rick is still of the road waiting for repairs. Alex has tire problems. Once the storm breaks, the roads are plowed and everyone is back to work.
Arctic Whiteout: The gas well that the drivers have been hauling to has run dry, so they move their operations to a new site fifty miles away, called Langley. Almost seven million pounds of materials must be transported along the ice road as soon as possible. Eric, Hugh, and Alex all haul loads. Drew makes his first solo trip over the ocean road. Erick makes a load that is to large to fit under the power lines, and have to make special arrangements. The weather worsens.
Lost on the Ice: The storm clears and the ice road truckers are ready to get back on the road. Eric and Bear complete hauls. Drew is having issues and stays on the loading dock. Hugh finds himself without a haul. Rick begins to believe that the other truckers don't respect him. Alex takes a wrong turn, and finds himself lost on the ice.
Hundred Ton Haul: The pressure to move the equipment to its new location in Langley is getting to everyone. Alex is having some health problems, but he makes the heaviest haul of his career. Hugh takes his vacuum tanker from Inuvik to offload sewage. Rick approaches the company safety officer about his perceived lack of respect from his coworkers.
Man Down: Eric hears of a polar bear sighting, and decides to steer clear of that area. Rumors of the polar bear spread among the truckers, and local wildlife experts investigate. Rick is assigned a run that will take five days round-trip. He refuses to take it, and is assigned to haul garbage instead. Alex keeps getting sicker, and has to be flown to Yellowknife for a CT scan.
A Trucker's Farewell: The move to Langley must be completed soon, and several hauls still remain. Bear and Eric make two trips. Hugh drains the sewage tank again. Road conditions become dangerous. Alex has to end the season early after continued health problems. He is hospitalized with a clot is his lung.
A Rookie Fumbles: Erik tries to complete two hauls in one day. Rick and second-year trucker Bill Thorbourne go to the site at Mallik. Bill's truck has problems, which causes them to slow down. Drew goes on a grocery run and almost has an accident. Rookie Mike Flynn hauls a load and encounters road hazards. A few new truckers help out. Everyone checks on Alex to make sure he is okay.
Highway Maggots: The season is winding down, and the ice is thinning. Every available ice trucker is called in to help with hauling. Rick damages his truck again. Bear tries to help a snowplow that has broken through the ice, but another trucker beats him to it.
Man vs. Ice: The road is made more dangerous by thinning ice, and the seepage of water through cracks. Rookie Devon Neff makes his first ice road run. He travels with Hugh to help at Langley. Bear and Eric make hauls. Rick sends his truck back to the shop for repairs, and is suspected of driving too roughly.
The Big Thaw: The truckers encounter a large break in the road, and must wait for a pilot car to escort them safely around the obstacle. Eric and Hugh are battling it out to see who can achieve the highest load count for the season. Bear picks up a dangerous load. Eric and Hugh are tied at the end of the episode.
The World Crumbles: On the last day of the season, the crew still has hundreds of tons of equipment to move within twelve hours. The road is crumbling and extremely wet. Rick's manager reaches his breaking point with Rick and fires him. Bear and Drew deliver their final loads and head home. The other drivers finish up and retire as well. the season ends with Hugh having made the most hauls at 68.
