ICH Services Credit Card Scam

Rosa Hayes
It was estimated that credit card fraud cost consumers an average of $500 million a year. These statistics are on the rise and have continued to rise drastically since the year 2005 according to Spam Laws.

Consumers are now being warned of yet another credit card fraud that is going around. These warning states that there may be a charge on your credit card statement from a company called ICH Services. ICH Services only charges the credit card $9.70 to $9.85 in which most people blow it off as a charge that they could not remember. This fraudulent company has scammed many people without their knowledge according to HULIQ.

It's not just the credit cards that have consumers worried, their debit cards have also been seen charged and this has had me worried ever since I heard about the news on ICH Services charging innocent people.

I was once the victim of identity theft and have also been the victim of credit card fraud. Back at the beginning of last year, my husband and I received a bill in the mail stating that we owed a credit card company $350 for the set up fee and yearly charge. At the time, we only had our debit cards and one credit card.

This credit card that we had supposedly taken out was not your ordinary credit card, it was for a pre-paid credit card from a company that I had never even heard of. So, I did what most people with access to the internet would do, I looked them up online.

After hours of searching and not finding anything, I decided to call the company that issued the card. To my surprise, there was an answer by a lady who sounded like she was from India. I explained to the lady that we had never requested any service from their company and would like for the charges to be removed.

The lady said that I had requested the credit card but might not remember because it takes them a few months to send them out and that I should give her my social security number, name, birth date and address so that she could further investigate. I explained to her that I was not comfortable with giving information like that over the phone. The phone then became silent followed by a nice little hang up from the company.

I called them back and to my surprise, there was no answer. I took the complaint down to the police station and talked to them about it. I learned that it was a credit card scam and that the company was not a legit company. Apparently the company would try and get people to send them money through the mail and if they called, they would try to get their personal information from them to use.

They never caught this so-called company but they quickly faded after people started catching on to the credit card scam.

With the statistics on credit card fraud rising, you need to know how to protect yourself and your loved ones from becoming a victim. How to Protect Yourself From Identity Theft is a wonderful article written to help people take the necessary measures to insure that they are protecting themselves everyday.

Credit card scams like ICH Services, can be tricky and this is why it is important to check all references and resources that are available to see if they are a legit company.
