On my second visit, I decided to try the real test which turned out to be the rainbow roll. I just had to add the shrimp tempura roll AGAIN! The salmon, albacore, tuna and yellowtail tasted very fresh and it was gone in a matter of minutes. The staff is very friendly and you will always be greeted by the same lady who will walk around the counter just to personally give you your order.
Pricewise, let's just say for sushi and its quality you get way more for your money! My spicy tuna and shrimp tempura roll came out to $10.00. The shrimp tempura roll and rainbow roll came out to a total of $16.00! In any other decent sushi place, it would've cost $21.00 on average.
The two occasions I visited Ichizen delivered fast service and with one or two patrons awaiting their orders. This observation led me to believe that local Poway residents aren't aware of the neighborhood's hidden treasure. Well...now you all know! Bento boxes including chicken teriyaki and party trays are also available. The establishment is located on 13307 Poway Rd. in Poway, California in the PETCO outlet.
