I'd Rather Take You with Me

Take it from Someone Who Knows

Dan Reveal
Would you still respect my Halloween mask,

even after I've had to stumble through my self-righteous task?

"Take it from someone who knows," said the dying ember cast.

"You're better off to say it simply than to be found guilty of having to ask."

Would you still be included in that 50s Marilyn flasher wannabe line,

even after I'd deciphered the sun kissed rarity of the garden chime?

"Take it from someone who knows," said the lemony scent polish, in its futile attempt to rhyme.

"You're better off plucking the Mother's Day rose than to be falsely accused of a crime."

And to be sure, I'd rather take you with me.

It's so easy to perish in the unfettered tone of the microphone stand.

I'd rather take you with me,

than to live so far removed from the soothing second chance,

that holy haven that is the soft of your hand.

"Just don't blame the night," said the silver-maned distinguished beast.

"I'm so willing to buy what you're selling, as long as you show me compassion."

"As long as you don't count me among the least."

So bear with my pain as I withdraw from the human race.

You could probably forgive this hurting soul that remembers the details of your face.

And to be sure, I'd rather take you with me.

It's so easy to perish in the unfettered tone of the microphone stand.

I'd rather take you with me,

than to live so far removed from the soothing second chance,

that holy haven that is the soft of your hand.

What a beautiful description of the depth, intricacies, and web of human emotion and love. There is such giftedness you have my friend that few in the world posses.
