Idaho Man, Believing He Has the Mark of the Beast, Cuts Off Own Hand

A man from Idaho cut of his hand with a circular on Saturday according to WWLTV . He cut it off because he believed his hand had the "mark of the beast" on it. After cutting off his hand, cooking it in the microwave he called 911 on his own.

When the police deputy arrived the hand was somewhat cooked and the man appeared calm. The man was in his mid 20's in Kootenai County, Idaho. The man had placed a tourniquet on his arm to control the bleeding. The sheriff captain, Wolfinger, did not know which hand had been cut off.

The man is now in protective custody at Kootenai Medical Center in the mental health unit. The hospital spokesperson, Lisa Johnson, could not disclose whether the hand was being reattached due to patient confidentiality. It is not known whether the man had any previous mental issues.

In the bible there are passages that talk about the mark of the beast and losing a body part. The first verse is "If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he, too will drink the wine of God's fury", Found in the New Testament in the book of Revelation. The second verse in the bible is "And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away", found in the New Testament in the book of Matthew.

In a similar case a man enter a butcher shop in Springfield, Northern Virginia and cut of his hand according to NBC. He came into the shop with his teenage son. The man cut off his hand because he was given chicken. The man was very upset because he was given chicken, rather then the requested chicken. The man stated to police "I'm not a terrorist. I did this for my family." The man was sent to Inova Fairfax hospital for treatment.

In Kershaw County, Wisconsin, a man made a life or death decision of cutting of his arm in order to survive according to WISTV . The man had no choice because his arm was stuck in a piece of farm equipment. The man, Sampson Parker said "If I was going to die here, I was going to put up a fight, and that basically what I did." If he didn't cut off his hand he would have lost his life on his Kershaw County Farm. The man was happy to be alive after the incident.

Another man cut of his hand by accident in Adelaide, Australia with a chain saw accoding to SMH . The man put the hand in the freezer until authorities arrived. The man waited 2 hours before phoning for help. The man was alert when the ambulance came and was taken to emergency surgery at Flinders Medical Centre.

These are 4 different stories of people losing a limb. It just happens that 2 of them were purposely done and the other two were done by accident.
