Seas Aqua Tour at the Epcot Theme Park: This aquatour can be combined with the rest of your Florida vacation at the Epcot Theme Park. This is perfect for families with children 8 and over. The tour allows guests to swim on the surface of the 5.7 million gallon saltwater tank inside the "Seas with Nemo & Friends Pavilion" at the Epcot Theme Park. Guests use a supplied air snorkel system and do not need to be scuba certified. In this 2.5 hour experience, guests swim for approx. 30 minutes in the massive Caribbean Coral Reef Aquarium. You swim with over 6000 sea creatures representing over 60 species. You also learn about many of these beautiful creatures and get to see the massive backstage infrastructure required to filter and maintain a massive man-made ocean flourishing with sea life. All snorkeling equipment is provided and all you need to do is bring your own swimsuit. If you're a certified scuba diver and wish to dive below the surface of the tank, you may be able to participate in the Epcot Dive Quest Program. Several members of my family have taken their kids and grandkids on this tour and it was enjoyed by all. Snorkel at Puerto Morelos, Cancun, Mexico: Puerto Morelas is a quaint old town, just a short drive from Cancun. For the true snorkel enthusiast, this is the best place to go. This is one of the best kept secrets of Cancun. The quality of the Coral and diversity of the fish has a lot to do with the area being seldom explored. This snorkel tour includes a visit to two different parts of the reef with 45 minutes of snorkeling at each reef plus a visit to an underwater cenote, which are freshwater sinkholes that are found all over this area. The boats on this tour hold a maximum of 10 people., but you can request a private tour with groups of 4 to 10 people. If anyone in your group prefers not to snorkel, which is what I did, you just pay $10.00 for the ride and lay on the beach. Hundreds of fish such as barracudas, parrot fish, stingray etc.are seen here. This tour is a must for the avid snorkeler.
If neither of these aquatours interest you, or for more information on other great aquatours check out the website aquatours.com. They have a lot of information on scuba diving and other snorkeling destinations as well as a number of other water activities.
