Angels are a popular collectable, but not everyone places them in curio cabinets or tucks them away in a bedroom. They can become part of the decorating scheme in the dining room or any other area of the home. I recently discovered a beautiful way to decorate with angels in a dining room after my daughter and I visited the home of her Godmother. We brought her the gift of a collectible angel. We had no idea that she collected angels when we made our selection, and our gift was the perfect choice.
While we were in her home I observed how she had creatively decorated her dining room with angels. It was not overdone or crowded in the least. It looked absolutely beautiful. Read on to learn some of the decorating techniques I observed, and bring your angels out instead of tucking them away in a curio cabinet or another enclosed area of the home.
Install Floating Shelves Near the Ceiling
My daughter's Godmother has built-in shelves near the top of her ceiling. It is an architectural element of the home, but anyone can achieve the same decorating scheme with floating shelves. Floating shelves look as if they are simply floating on the wall, but they are securely attached with hardware and anchors.
When looking for creative ways of decorating a dining room with angels use floating shelves if you do not have built-in ledges. Use the shelves or ledges to hold angels, but do not place them too close together. The key to decorating a dining room or any space with figurines is not cramming too many into one location. This will cheapen the look, and it will be impossible to view each of the figures alone.
Evenly and Appropriately Space the Angels
My daughter's Godmother spaced her angels approximately 24 inches apart, and they add beauty to her dining room. Each one can be viewed without another getting in the way of another. In addition, her angels all have something in common other than wings. They are all mainly white with very little detail. The eyes do not become confused by disorder because her display is neat and uncluttered.
