Girls love pageants, even those that do not actively participate. Countless people have become more aware of pageants through television reality shows, and it is turning into a decorating trend. Countless little girls want a bedroom decorated in a pageant theme whether they are actively involved or not. It is a glitzy subject that offers many unique decorating possibilities, and it is a design theme that I have been asked to complete for a few new clients. I came up with a number of creative ideas for decorating a girl's bedroom in a pageant theme, and my clients loved the results.
Choose a Bedroom Color Scheme
One thing that I stress to my clients when planning the design scheme of their home is the importance of avoiding stereotyped decorating. A girl's bedroom does not have to be pink, and a boy's room does not have to be blue. When decorating a girl's bedroom in a pageant theme, it does not have to princess pink. It can include stylish color combinations, and even black can be used to accent the space. Decorating is costly, and when working on a budget it is wise to use color schemes and designs that can grow with a child.
Add Pageant Ribbon Wall Decor
Use ribbon wall decor when decorating a girl's bedroom in a pageant theme. Gracefully drape ribbons of your choice on the wall over a dresser or at the head of the bed. Pageant ribbons can also be used as drapery tiebacks. Search online for pageant ribbons in colors and styles of your choice. The text on the ribbons adds personality to a girl's bedroom, and it does it in a unique and stylish way.
Create a Sparkling Crown Headboard
A girl's bed can be the crown jewel of her bedroom, and her headboard can become the canvas for this classic pageant symbol. Create a sparkling crown headboard using faux flat-backed gems and jewels. Design the silhouette of a princess crown using craft store gems, or simply cover the entire surface with faux jewels if the headboard is already shaped like a crown. It can look magnificent.
I created a bed with a pageant theme for a client's daughter's bedroom, and I used an existing wooden headboard. I drew the outline of a large crown in the center of the headboard, and I attached a combination of glass gems and Swarovski crystals to create the jeweled work of art. The results were stunning, especially when the design was illuminated by light. It was beautiful, and it greatly added to the pageant theme of the girl's bedroom.
Crown Decor
Crowns make fantastic bedroom embellishments when decorating in a pageant theme, but do not overdo it. When decorating a girl's bedroom in a glitzy pageant theme, use three to six crowns throughout the entire space. A crown can be placed over each bedpost, and they can be used to embellish a single shelf. Also, they do not have to be pageant prizes to look fantastic. Prize crowns should be treasured and safely displayed. Shop online to find faux pageant crowns to use specifically for bedroom decorating. They can look just as good as or better than prize crowns, and they will beautify a girl's bedroom in a glitzy new way.
