Creative Ways to Decorate with Barn Wood and More

A barn theme is an excellent choice when decorating a traditional or rustic living room. It can include many other related subjects as well. In any case it is a choice that is appealing on many levels. Use these ideas for decorating a living room in a barn theme, and decorate with barn wood accents, works of farm-related art and more. It can look tranquil, naturally mystical and absolutely beautiful.

Create a Barn Wood Framed Display on a Bare Wall

When seeking ideas for decorating a living room in a barn theme, create a framed display in the center of a bare wall. Frame painted works of art with real barn wood. As the photo shows, the main piece should include a barn, and a classic barn of decades past is a fantastic choice. Surround it with other paintings in a barn theme or something related.

My paintings depict a highly detailed pheasant and fox. These animals are commonly found in the Midwest and other areas of the United States in rural areas. They are an excellent choice when decorating a living room in a barn theme. In any case, do not fill the living room with dozens of barns. One or two high-quality paintings or photos will set the theme of the space. Anything more is an overstatement.

Consider Decorating with Tabletop Wildlife Decor

When decorating a living room in a barn theme, consider using tabletop wildlife decor. For example, choose cast resin or carved wood buck lamps with birch bark shades. These are ideal when decorating a living room in a barn theme. Deer are commonly seen on and near farm fields, and they are a related subject. Otherwise, choose high-quality tabletop wildlife decor, and use it sparingly. A few top-quality pieces are far more impressive and a much better choice than several low-quality items.

Basketry with Natural Works of Found Art

Animals and barns are not the only subjects that can be used when decorating a living room in a rural farm theme. Consider natural items commonly found on the ground. Pinecones, acorns, pine sprigs and gum tree pods are free works of art provided by nature. Buy a rustic basket, and line it with dried corn stalks sections or fresh pine sprigs. Fill the basket with a variety of natural decor. They will look absolutely beautiful, and the cost cannot be beat.

Dose this mean, that I don't have to take my shoes off anymore to enter the living room?
