Ideas for Decorating Your Yard

There are many spring ideas for decorating your yard; this will allow you to be creative. One thing I like to do is to be different from everyone else, not having the same design or set up that others have in their yard. One thing I did one year was outlined a circle in my front yard. After removing the top layer of grass, I put a tarp down to keep weeds from growing up. I placed topsoil down and made a hill making the top a flat top. I built a 2X3 picnic table and placed that on the flat part of the hill. I then placed decorative stone in areas on the topsoil. I went and purchased a boy and girl doll and used Velcro to keep the dolls from falling back off the table. Setting one doll on one side of the picnic table and the other doll on the other side. I tacked down plates and cups on the table so they wouldn't blow away and then I cut a hole in the middle of the table placing an umbrella in the middle of the picnic table. This made it look like it was just a nice picnic.

The second thing I done was planted flowers around the bottom of the hill and placed ceramic animals, such as rabbits, frogs, and even birds. You may even place a ceramic bird on the table itself. You could even purchase a bigger ceramic dog and place it next to the picnic table putting a leash around its neck and tying it to the picnic table leg.

In another area of your yard you may want to continue the doll look. If you have a flower garden you can get a girl doll and make it look as if she is bending over planting flowers. Having a boy doll next to her holding flowers would be a cute idea also. Make it look as though he is holding the flowers to give to her as she is planting them. If you have a porch, you can purchase a small bench or even build one and place a boy and girl doll on it, which would be cute.

Another idea is if you have a roof over your porch, you could get two hooks and put them under the roof. Get some rope and a board, drill two holes at each end of your board, and tie the rope through it and make a swing. Place your boy and girl doll on the swing with one hand from each doll holding the rope on the swing. Use fishing string so it is not noticeable to tie the hands on the rope to keep them from falling off. You may also use Velcro and place it on the seat of the swing and the bottom of your dolls. Being different and creative can make your yard look very different from others. Using these ideas and your imagination may also make you think of other creative ways to use these dolls. Always be creative and different from others and just have fun decorating your yard.
