Plan your menu with your guests and the event in mind. A Super Bowl party menu is one of the easiest to plan, even though there is a massive amount of food, your guests can be enlisted to bring something. Your guests will enjoy the opportunity to share their best dishes.
Here's the menu popular at my Super Bowl party:
Chili-This is my husband's specialty. He makes his famous chili every year.
Meatballs-These can be purchased frozen for ease in preparation or ask a guest if they will bring them.
Buffalo Wings-A bachelor friend brings these every year. They are hot enough to shoot flames out of your mouth. It must be a guy thing.
Little Smokies-Add barbecue sauce to a pot of Little Smokies and keep toothpicks nearby for serving.
Quesadillas-A family friend is known as the Queen of Kitchen Gadgets. She brings her quesadilla maker and makes quesadillas to order.
Mexican Layer Casserole-This casserole starts with a layer of ground beef, refried beans and Mexican seasonings. Cover this layer with layers of shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, onions and tomatoes. Top again with more shredded cheese. Serve this dish with tortilla chips and offer sour cream and guacamole on the side.
Tortilla Pinwheels-Cover a tortilla with a flavored cream cheese spread, chopped black olives and a thin layer of a deli meats of your choice. Roll the tortilla and cut quarter inch slices for the pinwheels serving.
Cheese and Sausage Platter-Serve with assorted crackers.
Potato Chips and Dips
Tortilla Chips and Salsa
Pizza Bites-I try to make these during half time. When I know everybody will be there and they will be served hot.
Vegetable Tray-See, I do have something healthy.
Popcorn
Mixed Nuts
You, of course, probably have your favorites that you can add. The drinks are provided and shared by everyone. We usually have beer, pop, mixed drinks, lemonade, and juice. Dessert is usually scaled back quite a bit after the holidays, but I do serve a cake because we are also celebrating my husband's birthday and we usually have a plate of cookies that the kids enjoy.
